Although the marine park is fairly easy to navigate, there are a few things to consider using the cm93 digital charts.

The names of the islands displayed on the charts are wrong. The island called Koh Ang Thong on the digital chart is Koh Wua Talab, home of the marine park authorities. The island Koh Wuata Lam on the chart is in reality Koh Maeko where the Talay Nai (inner Lake) is located.

If you confuse Koh Wua Talab with the Koh Wuata Lam on the chart, or just appoaching the beautiful bay in the NE of Koh Maeko there is another danger to avoid:
In approximate position 09°39.1 N, 99°40.2 E is one of the orange government mooring buoys laid out. This is not a mooring! If you get closer you can make out that there is no mooring line attached. The mooring buoy is used as a danger buoy! It indicates a rock which reaches to 30 cm below the surface. Helloo?!-yes, always remember you're cruising in Thailand.Cool

Fair winds for all sailing this wonderful cruising ground
